The Commander Pete Oswald Memorial Golf Tournament is an annual event held to provide a day of camaraderie and philanthropy which honors the memory of Commander Pete Oswald, fallen Navy SEAL.
Join us this year as we gather to remember Pete, and to raise much needed funds for the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Whatcom Dollars for Scholars.

An Eagle Scout and 1979 graduate of Sehome High School, Commander Oswald attended Harvey Mudd College for a year prior to entering the United States Naval Academy. At Annapolis, Pete majored in Ocean Engineering, was a three year letterman in football and, in his senior season was voted to the NCAA Division 1A All-East Team at center.
Birdies for the Brave, a PGA TOUR Charities, Inc. program is a military outreach initiative supported by the PGA TOUR. Since 2005, the TOUR has joined with players , corporate partners, club members, fans, and tour employees to raise more than $13 million for charities that provide vital services and programs for military men and women and their families. Birdies for the Brave has grown to include a variety of military outreach efforts by the PGA TOUR.

Beyond his rigorous physical training, mental discipline and technological resources, it is his extraordinary innate force of will that ensures a SEAL’s place amongst the pinnacle of elite warriors.
The Navy SEAL Foundation provides support in times of adversity and achievement to U.S. Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen, Naval Special Warfare support personnel and their families. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and more than 95 cents of every dollar spent by the Navy SEAL Foundation directly supports mission programs and services. Independent Charities of America certifies the Foundation as a “Best in America” charity. Charity Navigator has awarded them their coveted four-star rating for sound fiscal management and has ranked them as their highest rated military-related, and third overall charity.
Whatcom Dollars for Scholars (WDFS) is a local non-profit organization which provides scholarships to attend college or other post-secondary education to the graduating seniors of our four high schools in Bellingham, WA. Since 2002, over 500 scholarships totaling more than $464,000 have been awarded.
